It should contain no more than 2700 words, 4 graphics and maps. The thesis should be in one of these programs: Word, QuarkXPress, Adobe Pagemaker. The graphics should be made in either Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw. The materials may be sent either via e-mail or a floppy and two hard copies should be taken to the following address: “Zangak -97” Publishing House 49/2 Komitas Ave II floor, secretary Yerevan , Armenia Multimedia (Photo, Poster, Film, Art Pictures) For one exhibition of photo is given 6m2 space and no more than 2x3 m area. Those, who will apply till May 15 will get the area for free. Others have to pay for it. The films will be shown in different movie theatres of Yerevan and the first three places will be granted with prizes by the jury. We have all the possibilities of showing any kind of professional and amateur films. In case the film producers wish we can organize public meetings in the best movie theatres of the city. Who can apply? Anybody. For the purpose of ensuring the publication of the papers, their annotations and the whole text (no more than 8 pages or 22 000 characters) of it the entry fee is 70 euros. The required sum should be sent to the following address till May 30: in euros – DEUTCH BANK AG. in dollars – DEUTSCHE BANK TRUST COMPANY AMERICAS Before and after the conference there will be organized scientifically-cognitive tours: Yerevan-Ashtarak-Kosh-Avan-Sasunik-Ujan-Dzorap-Orgov-Byurakan-Yerevan. Yerevan-Martuni-Vardenis-Gavar-Yerevan Duration: 7 days Sights: caves with stone doors, tunnels, which were built starting from X B.C. In Aragatsotn Region the guests will be given the exclusive opportunity to visit the famous observatory of Byurakan and watch the starry sky. The nights will mostly be spent in village houses and tents. They will taste traditional food from wild greens, but they may also order European cuisine. Total Cost for 7 days (including 2 nights in Yerevan ) is $670 per person. Yerevan-Vayk-Goris-Tegh-Karashen-Berdzor-Hochants-Tsitseravank-Qronk-Tatev-Yerevan. Duration: 7 days Sights: cave towns and villages, which existed till 1960’s. Christian churches, historical monuments and stone hinges (Qarahunj) of I-XIII cc dug in rock and on earth. The participants will have the chance to savor the ecologically sterile exotic food of mountain inhabitants. The nights will be spent mostly in village houses (those, who need certain conveniences should specify about them beforehand). Total Cost for 7 days (including the 2 nights in Yerevan ) is $1120 per person. Yerevan-Berdzor-Artsakh (Stepanakert, Shoushi, Hadrout, Vanq)-Berdzor-Yerevan Duration: 7 days Sights: historical monuments, caves (including Azokh Cave , where have been discovered remnants of men of 1000 000 years old), Hojanc, Qronq, Kashatagh and other churches dug in rock. They will have the opportunity to taste Gharabagh dishes. The nights will be spent in village houses. Total Cost: for 7 days (including the 2 nights in Yerevan ) is $1080 7 days in Karst caves of Yeghegnadzor region. The guests will visit the Arj Cave (Bear Cave ), which is one of the unique caves of the world with hydrothermal origin. (Professor Dublyanski has conducted exploration). Total Cost: $580 per person Ecological Tours will be organized according to demand: photo-shooting during hunting wild tourism on horses ▪ to study the life of birds (griffon, eagle, etc.) - $158 ▪ to study the life of animals (panther, wolf, hyena, etc.) - $158 ▪ to study the life of herbivorous animals (Caucasian wild sheep, wild goats, etc.) - $158 wild mountain tourism with geologists to explore the geological structures (volcanic, sediment and metamorphic) of earth – only $85 In Yerevan the guests will visit: ▪ Yerevan State Art Gallery ▪ Armenian Historical Museum ▪ Art Museum after Saryan ▪ Modern Art Museum ▪ Russian Museum ▪ Opera House ▪ Jazz Club Traditional and National Hearths Scientific delivery will be provided by the best specialists of Armenia . The Karst Caves of Armenia are mostly spread in Yeghegnadzor (Vayq region), they are also met in Urts mountain-ridge (Ararat region), in Dilijan-Ijevan-Berd section (Taoush region) and in Syuniq. The largest caves are: horizontally developed · Arjer Cave (Cave of Bears ) (hydrothermal Karst) 3800m long, is situated among limestones (Vayq) · Magil (Karst) 1900m long, is situated in conglomerat (Vayq) Mozrov (hydrothermal karst) 560m long, is situated among limestones (Vayq) vertically developed · Zrngan – 146m deep, is situated among limestones (Taoush) · Khor Hor – 70m deep, is situated among limestones (Ararat region) Chghjik Hor – 52m deep, is situated among limestones (Ararat region) The Karsts that have plutono-tectnonic genesis are of great significance and interest. On their formation greatly influenced the hydrotherms – Arjer, Mozrov, Anahit, Kiklop, Karmir and others. The volcanic caves are spread throughout all Armenia and are represented by contact-denudation voids (grates and caves), with tunnels of gas-lava and volcanic origin. Numerous paleolit and neolit settlements have been discovered among such caves. Anthropogen caves are spread throughout all Armenia . These are settlements, storages, hiding places, castles. Of great interest are the churches dug in rock (Geghard, Hochants, Martirosavanq, Qronq, etc.), the caves with stony doors (in Shirak, Aragatsotn, Gegharqounik regions), the Xenophone houses (Shirak, Gheraqounik), the tunnels, which are up to 500-600m long. |
